Final Harry Potter film climbs to third place on the all-time worldwide chart
If it weren’t for that Muggle director James Cameron, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 would now be the highest-grossing movie ever at the worldwide box office. Instead, it’ll have to settle for third. Buoyed by a potent opening in China, Deathly Hallows passed The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King on Sunday to land in third place on the all-time global chart. In 26 days, the final Potter entry has so far conjured an incredible $1.13 billion worldwide. However, it’s highly unlikely that Deathly Hallows will ever reach the James Cameron stratosphere that includes Avatar ($2.78 billion) and Titanic ($1.84 billion).
